Married- AGAIN?!? Marc and I toodled down to the County Clerk's office this week and got married. Again. ;) We did it on the same date as our anniversary date so we don't have to remember any MORE dates:

1) The date we got married (5/3/05)
2) The date we announced it (10/1/05)
3) The date we had a party to celebrate it (8/18/06)
4) The date we filed with the state (5/3/07)

We did it because I've decided to change my name to match Marc's and the baby's. It's easier to change my name this way, than to go through the rigmarole Marc endured to change his name. Simply go to the courthouse, pay $10 cash and viola - a state issued marriage certificate in hand makes it easy as pie to change your name. So, now we'll be the Baines family.

This first week away from work has been spectacular. Not much of note to report in the way of activities, but we've worked in the yard, gardened, shopped, spent time with neighbors, cooked, and done all sorts of wonderful things. Thought I'd feel really guilty about leaving work early but...so far, so good. All the prep I did up to the point of leaving must have helped. I left things in good order and probably overprepared everything for my interim backup. I feel good about it.

In baby news, all is well. Uneventful, which is to say perfect. We're in the final month of cooking and I'm feeling extra-large. See? Definitely have some fluid retention going on, here. Thankfully, it's temporary.

We've started calling the baby "Booty" after our latest midwife appt as we've now had two professional baby "palpitators" tell us they had a hard time distinguishing head from butt. One did a quick ultrasound look to make sure it was indeed a little bum up top and we're still head down (we are). Apparently, the butt isn't usually as firm as the head. Big butts and hard heads. Think there's a family resemblance? A little foreshadowing, perhaps?
