Love that dirty water. Our Boston excursion was a very productive and pleasant trip. I learned the origin and meaning of a Smoot and recalled with nostalgia the taste of a frappe and a raspberry lime rickey. I acquired my first fitted ballcap (quite fittingly, of the much loved team in my old hometown). We ate more than our fair share of lobster, oysters and Pizzeria Regina, and learned just how much I can ingest before bursting. We learned what it takes to make one of those newfangled-public-toilets-that-look-like-time-machines "reboot" itself (or break, if you want to get picky). I learned more about the "T" and rode it more than I ever did when I lived there. We wandered the halls of Harvard and actually got invited to attend a class or two (we ran late, so didn't). We wandered the halls of MIT and got invited to nothing but learned where the Metallurgy Dept is located and that it's pretty easy to attend classes or other functions on these campuses. I learned that the walk from the high school to my house really *wasn't* as far as I used to complain about, and the walk from my house to Bellino's Pizza was all for naught because Bellino's is gone, except for a park bearing the name. I enlightened the people who now live in the house I grew up in why the lamppost has a big dent in it (an altercation with the car), and why there is now merely a tree stump outside what was my 2nd floor bedroom window (ahem). We visited old friends and made some new ones. We didn't make any packy runs, but still had a wicked good time. There are a few pictures posted - more to come. When can we come back?
