Firsts. It was a weekend of firsts for me:

I received the first high-end bicycle I've ever purchased (a 2003 Litespeed Classic) on Friday afternoon.

I rode said bike for the first time on Saturday.

I changed my first flat tire.

I smashed my new bike and myself into the pavement for the first time.

I bloodied my knee for the first time this spring season.

The hydrogen peroxide was used for the first time this year.

On Sunday, I went mountain biking with clipless pedals for the first time (note: only the second time mtn biking).

I fell into a cactus patch in front of a 6 year old, for the first time.

A random runner, the 6 year old, his parents and most of my companions got a good look at my bare butt (for the first time) while Marc attempted to pick out the cactus spines using a credit card (for the first time).

I acquired my first bruise of the season that is over 6" long.

This doesn't count for this weekend, but *last* weekend, I rode my first 50 mile bike ride. Headed to Boston later this week for my first trip back since 1997. Will get to meet an old friend's children for the first time. Let's hope there are no cactus patches nearby.
